How to choose a urethane casting route
Urethane casting is generally selected for low-volume parts that need molded geometry and a material feel closer to a production polymer than a typical machined prototype. A master pattern is used to create a silicone mold, and liquid polyurethane is cast and cured in that mold.
The route is most useful when the quantity does not justify hard production tooling but the part geometry, appearance or elastomer-like behavior is difficult to achieve economically by machining. Confirm the required hardness, color, transparency, wall sections, inserts and expected quantity before choosing a formulation.
This category currently contains one product family, so a side-by-side process table would imply comparisons that the catalog does not support. Use the family detail and drawing review to confirm material behavior, dimensions, finish and lead time for the actual part.
Where to go next
If the part needs a different material behavior or tooling economics, compare adjacent 3D printing, CNC machining and die-casting routes before committing to a mold.
